2010 marked the 27th anniversary of Turbo Surf Designs (Turbo), and in many ways marked the rebirth of a bodyboarding legend. Few brands in the world can lay claim to such a rich history in the sport of bodyboarding and with the new range of Turbo boards and accessories it is clear that Turbo Surf Designs remains the global leader in the sport of bodyboarding.

Turbo Surf Designs was founded in Hawaii in 1983 by the legendary Russ Brown (“Captain Turbo”). Right from its launch in the revolutionary days of bodyboarding, Turbo set its own course creating a long association with QUALITY and INNOVATION.
In 1983, Turbo rocked the bodyboarding industry by providing a viable alternative to the colossal Morey Boogie dominance --a stiff board with a vinyl deck that could be custom tailored to suit your riding preferences. Prior to this innovation, the bodyboard was a soft over-flexible piece of foam. Turbo revolutionized the sport of bodyboarding and has set its own course since. Turbo progressed to the top of the bodyboarding food chain in the 1980’s and 1990’s as they continued to push the boundaries of the sport of bodyboarding. Turbo was the premium brand in the world of bodyboarding.

Move forward to 2007, Turbo Surf Australia Pty Ltd re-launches Turbo with a determination of honoring the legacy of this premium iconic brand into the world of performance bodyboarding. The shop in Hawaii is gone and Turbo is once again a specialized worldwide board designer with a continued passion for QUALITY and INNOVATION.

The Taylor brothers exclusively manage Turbo Surf Designs Worldwide from their base in Australia. Glenn Taylor is the Global Head of Board Design and Manufacturing, while Gregg Taylor manages operations for Turbo globally.
Glenn Taylor has been shaping bodyboards for over 10 years and worked with the famed Manta Team from the late 1990’s. Glenn is driven and focused on designing and creating the finest quality bodyboards using the latest technology.
